When ambassadors redeem a SocialLadder reward in-app, they receive an automated email with the redemption instructions on how to receive their reward. These instructions will vary based on the needs & setup of your program.
Use the following list of SocialLadder program types to learn more about your particular program’s reward redemptions work.
Self-service programs on Eventbrite or Universe have an easy redemption workflow: your rewards will all be automatically redeemed through your online shop! The reward options available on the SETUP tab of the extension will slightly affect the end of the reward fulfillment.
Automated ticket rewards don’t need to be planned for at all since they’re linked up to the ticket classes you already have in your shop. Once the ambassador claims their reward in your shop, they will receive a 100% discount codes & follow the flow of a standard ticket purchase.
Custom rewards have the same experience for the ambassador as standard ticket rewards. Once the ambassador redeems the reward in-app, they are emailed a redemption code and sent to your shop to obtain their reward. The only difference is in your fulfillment obligation. Since your ambassador will be receiving their reward in an email just like any other purchase from your shop, it is your event’s responsibility to fulfill these rewards like any other purchase made in your shop. Read on in the Tips & Tricks section of this article to learn more about custom reward fulfillment.
Some pricing packages on Eventbrite or Universe may also opt to have custom redemption instructions for some or all of their rewards. For instance, you may want to send your ambassadors directly to Guest Services with their redemption code in order to claim their reward. Contact your Customer Success representative in order to set up custom redemption instructions.
Self-service programs that are NOT created via Eventbrite or Universe have one option for reward redemption instructions, which is a customized reward redemption instruction email. These redemption instructions must be uniform across every reward in your program. You can use this redemption instruction however you see fit; traditionally, however, this redemption instruction email is used to correspond to two fulfillment workflows. You can either:
Provide ambassadors with a contact email to reach out to upon redemption of their reward. This option will allow a single person from your team to coordinate the fulfillment of every reward redemption. This option is good for programs that have a lot of individual or unique rewards, or to use as a placeholder in lieu of more specific instruction.
Provide ambassadors with further instructions to obtain their reward. This could be something like filling out a linked Google Form, or it could be instructions to visit Guest Services at an event. Use this if you can provide clear and general instructions for all of your rewards.
Some pricing packages for programs not created on Eventbrite or Universe have the above option, as well as one more: coordinated redemption codes between SocialLadder and the client’s online shop in order to make reward fulfillment seamless. These programs are also able to customize reward redemption instruction emails on a per-reward basis. Contact your Customer Success representative for more information or to set up your customized redemption workflows.
Monitoring Your Program’s Redemptions
You can view all of the redemptions made by your program’s ambassadors with one report in the Admin Portal. Head to the Reporting tab of the portal, then head to the Daily Commitment Query report to see your program’s redemptions.
Please note that this shows all of your program’s redemptions regardless of their fulfillment status. Depending on how you are fulfilling your program’s redemptions, you may want to keep track of which rewards have and haven’t been fulfilled on your own.
Tips & Tricks
Further customize your custom rewards on Eventbrite and Universe. When you create a custom reward on Eventbrite or Universe, this reward is created as a real ticket class in your shop, hidden away and only accessible by a redemption code provided when that reward is redeemed in-app. This means that you can also edit these like any other ticket class in your shop. Try providing instructions to ambassadors here; for example, if they’ve redeemed a backstage tour, you can use the description of this ticket class to let them know where they need to go at your event to start their tour.
Keep your team aware. If you are organizing your SocialLadder ambassador program independently, you will want to make sure that all relevant parties throughout the fulfillment process are aware of the rewards that you are offering and what they will need to do to help out with fulfillment. You can let ambassadors know that they are to head to Guest Services, for example, but you should also give Guest Services a heads-up that SocialLadder ambassadors will be coming to claim rewards.
Ticket Reward for Venue: Please email email@example.com with your first & last name as is appears on your idea to claim (1) GA ticket to the show of your choice while supplies last. Our team will then add your name to the guest list for FREE entry upon arrival.
